I was sitting there, and I looked over, and SMACK! There he was. He's still as blonde as ever. but he's put on a bit of weight.

SNOW! ON CHRISTMAS EVE!! It was so beautiful. It stayed until well into Christmas Day, too!
So, Merry Christmas, all! And Happy New Year.
I'm heading back to New Orleans soon after 2005 hits. Classes start the 10th, if I remember correctly, which is doubtful. At any rate, hope everyone is having a wonderful break.

SERIOUSLY!
I went over to the childcare center this morning at 7.30 to get in 2 volunteer hours before (and for) my 9.30 class. I started out in the toddler/baby room, then shifted over to the Just Babies room at 8.15. OMG SO CUTE. I gave one a bottle and held him and NNNGH, so ADORABLE!
But then, in class this morning, I got so many BRILLIANT ideas for my project that I have to present on Thursday.
I concluded that it must've been the babies.

watching her made me wish i'd continued in dance. i loved it.

-- fled a hurricane
-- woken up at 4am
-- been on 2 road trips
-- slept until noon everyday except twice
-- spent time with some of the most awesome and wonderful people i've ever known
-- been scared out of my mind
now i'm back. we fled new orleans because of hurricane ivan, which totally crapped out on us: no rain, just some wind, from what i hear.
Ashley drove us. she's spectacular and fantastic, everyone should praise her and shower her with expensive gifts.
both our road trips were fun. to Houston and back to New Orleans.
i have about 2 more hours to kill before i have to go to math. but it's going to be fun because i haven't experienced my CRACKHEAD of a math teacher for a week. |

my mom and i were on our way to work this morning and we were discussing Jack's band, Glasgow. what kind of music they played, etc, etc. i told her about the band that my future husband plays violin in and she wanted to know what kind of music they played. i said, "this isn't going to mean anything to you, but they're really emo."
she looks at me and goes, "i know Elmo. i know what an Emu is. i don't know Emo."
i just about died.
also, it doesn't look like the digital camera thing is going to work out for my birthday present, so. RECOMMEND ME SOME CDS, PEOPLE. *whipcrack*

Jack called me this morning. i'm at work. i was getting chapstick out of my purse and i noticed my phone was ringing. it was on silent. i didn't catch it in time to answer it, so i just let him leave a message.
i checked my messages a couple minutes ago, and this is what he said:
"Hey Laura, it's Jack. Wake up wake up wake up wake up wake up. And call me. Wake up. Bye." |

omg it's friday the 13th. *skeeered*
some IDIOT (WHO I DON'T KNOW) decided to text message me at 11.30 last night, after i'd turned the TV and was going to sleep. i kept saying stuff like "WTF WHO IS THIS YOU'VE CALLED ME BEFORE YOUR NUMBER IS IN MY MISSED CALLS WHO ARE YOU TELL ME NOW." of course not all run-on-sentence-y like that, but that general idea.
s/he finally said, "IT'S ME BITCH MIKE JONES."
i said, "i'm going to sleep now. please stop msg-ing me."
s/he said, "ok it's me julio."
i said, "ok jackass, then who am i?"
s/he said, "OMG! NELLY"
"WRONG ASSHOLE. PLEASE GO AWAY IF I DON'T KNOW YOU SO I CAN GO TO SLEEP."
AND THEN THEY CALLED ME. FROM A "PRIVATE NUMBER." i said, "HELLO!?" and no one said anything so i hung up. and then THEY CALLED AGAIN. i let it ring (it was on silent) and was going to see if they left a message. no message. then another number i don't know called!
by this time i was getting really scared. i was like, "who are these people or this one person who got my cell phone number somehow? if they keep this up, they obviously must know me or are convince they have the right number aaaaaaaah."
it finally stopped. they called 3 times from the 2nd number. i got a text at 6.30 this morning (phone was still on silent, so i didn't hear it) that said "IM SO SORRY I HAVE THE WRONG NUMBER "SORRY" BYE."
i was like, "why the quotations around the sorry?" but i just wrote back, "Whatever."
i shouldn't have even texted back. grr. damn you, hindsight!
whatever. i saw Princess Diaries 2 with Kelly and 2 of her HS friends last night. ( small spoiler. not really essential to the movie, but a teensy little spoiler )
preview for National Treasure came on. SEAN BEAN! MUST. GO. SEE.

our digital video camera takes digital stills. we'd known this ever since we got it, but we never figured out how to get the stills off of the camera's memory card and onto a computer, for various reasons, the most important of which being that our computer at home is as slow as a sedated snail. but i got home from work last night, and my now-brunette sister was taking pictures of herself with it. she got fed up because the memory was full, and was complaining about how she wanted to take more pictures.
the lightbulb went off in my head: put the pictures on my computer. i've got so much space on there, it won't matter if they're huge or if there's a bazillion pictures.
so we did.
and they're the closest i have to a digital camera for right now. (speaking of which, i need to continue my searching for the birthday present.)
and since my artistic streak decided to strike at midnight last night after months of being MIA, i artsy'd 'em up a little.
